Daniel Davis Clayton
for Texas House District 100
Small businessman and community leader Daniel Davis Clayton has entered the special election for Texas House District 100. Daniel, a lifelong Democrat and union member, is a 15-year resident of District 100 and has 10 years of state government experience in both the Texas Senate and Texas House of Representatives.  
Outside of his state experience, Daniel has worked to advance access to affordable healthcare, developed and manages a social emotional learning mentoring program for middle school boys, improved food security by building community gardens, and works with organizations like the Ferguson Road Initiative to address crime and improve our neighborhoods in District 100. 
Daniel has served on the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board Black Male Taskforce, The Dallas County Citizen Election Advisory Committee, the Vote Center Advisory Committee, is a member of the Southeast Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and a current board member of both the Southeast Dallas Chamber of Commerce and the Ferguson Road Initiative.
Daniel is a founding member and state office holder for the Texas Democratic Veterans, the past state president of the Texas Democratic Black Caucus and Texas Coalition of Black Democrats, a former Dallas County precinct chair, and a former member of the State Democratic Executive Committee.
Daniel owns a full-service communications company that markets small business initiatives, attends Trinity Baptist Church, and is the proud father of 13-year-old Joseph.
